The weather could not of been better for our first annual MadLab School of Fitness Golf Tournament held last Saturday at Fraserview Golf Course.
Much sunshine, libations and good times were taken in. Many thanks to all those who came out and participated. Next year will be a blast!
Koala and Sheppy took down the Men’s overall. After an even front 9 we lit it up with 3 birdies on the back.
Team Hobbit – Kermit and Shelley – Shot the lights out to take the Lady’s overall.
Honourable mention to Connor and Phillipe who were 5 under on the front but collapsed on the back.
Lady’s closest to the pin – Team Hobbit! Shelley and Kermit both win a massage generously donated by CJ and Cory Jenkins.
Men’s closest to the pin – Koala and Sheppy (same prize as Lady’s).
Much love to Cory and CJ for donating their time and effort to this event. Have to give them a plug. Cory has been practicing for years and is great with his knowledge and hands. Please contact him at for a great massage. Cj is just out of RMT College this year. I’ve heard nothing but excellent things about his practice. He is keen and able. Contact him at cj@madlab.ca to get the love.
Men’s long drive – Patty! Its been a hard few years for Patty and his game of golf. Which in turn has been very hard on the rest of our games. 😉 Couldn’t be happier he walked away with a prize.
Lady’s long drive – No one got it in the fairway so the prize was moved to the Lady’s overall. However!! In a surprising and lovingly gregarious move Patty put up his winnings and the ladies teed it up again. Jenn Farr put one right down the pipe to take it down.
The long drive prizes ($100 each for men and women) was generously donated by David Watts – Notary Public. Need a will? (yes you do!) Set up Power of Attorney? Real Estate papers signed? Something notarized? He is your man. Dave has been an upstanding member of our community for 7 years. Originally he was going to participate in the tourney but alas he is out of town the weekend. Thank you so much David for your support. Please contact him at . http://www.davidnotary.com/.
Saturday was an awesome day of people coming together in celebration of golf, each other and our community. It was touching to be part of it. Can’t wait until next year.
Mucho Amore,
Sheppy

Love yas
I love the feedback, the awesome ideas, and the frustration.
We are ON this.
Pocket Coach 2.0 is in the works.
(I'm sending your comments here to our MadLab Group superdork for review.)
Agree that various improvements to pocket coach are desirable if it is to be a real substitute for personal records. Perhaps consider a user feedback form (paper or online) or something so that we don't clutter up this page with suggestions?
Agree re:
-finding WOD's by date or Name because sometimes you remember to put it in a few days later or more.
-agree re: graph and actual scores/times instead of line.
-re:getting into the PC...not always easy
It would be so awesome if there were a way to import all of our old data straight into the new site's database!
(In the meantime, I'll keep adding to my personal .xls file, in the hopes that this will one day become possible.)
YES! LEADERBOARD YOU'RE BACK! I'VE MISSED YOU.
Also, it's nearly impossible to record your previous score for a wod. Say if you did Fran in Feb 2011, you gotta hit calendar, and scroll back through the years to find the exact year and date and then click on the date to enter your score. Why can't you just input the date and the score?
Second Wendy's comments.
Also can't edit a score once it's been added and no listing of all my workouts and results on one page. Can't view notes either unless I go back and select that exact date.
Finally, sloppy coach/wod naming convention.
This is Clyde. Reporting LIVE from the time-sucked-vacuumed portal of the space time continuum, since I first logged in to Pocket Coach 1.0. A couple things I hope are corrected in the 2.0 version:
Cannot update my Profile
Cannot change my password from "madlabpc".
Graphs function should be removed and replaced with the leaderboard for any selected workout.
Graphs function, I would argue, is borderline useless. I would rather see the actual scores/times (including progressions, if applicable), rather than a line graph.
Clicking on Leaderboard should default to today's leaderboard, not yesterday's.
Clicking on Leaderboard should give you the option to search for WODs by date. Cannot view leaderboard for a specific date, unless I remember the exact name of the workout as the coach entered it, (e.g. "AMRAP 7min") and type it in.
